PKR Poker review

Summary

PKR.Com is one of the hottest new online poker rooms on the Internet today! Their Beta version was met with fabulous reviews in June, 2006, followed by the exciting software release to the general public in August. The president and founder of the online poker room, Jez San, having spent years playing live poker with friends, personally found online poker lacking when compared to live games, he set out to change this with the new PKR.Com software.

That thought in mind, San set out to change the way online poker was played, bringing it light years closer to the game of poker that is played live, while sitting across from your opponents. Adding the features the poker room is quickly becoming famous for, including the most exciting element, 3D Graphics.

Software and Extra Features

Internet Poker players playing at this very new online poker site have the ability to create their own personality in all aspects of the game. Even the avatars are customizable. The poker player creates every aspect of their own avatar, including their hair style, facial features, cloths, and many other attributes.

Once at the poker table, users are able to ‘cry’, clap, etc. Adding a bit more personality to what has thus far been a flat screen game. In addition, players can change the camera angle, and view the poker tables from whichever angle best suites them.

In keeping with reality, the more you play at PKR, the more you learn. Advanced players will ‘learn’ how to perform tricks with their chips as they gain experience at the poker table. After all, we weren’t born knowing how to shuffle the chips at the poker table were we? They recently released an update which now makes their software multi-tabling friendly.

Chip tricks aren’t the only way to spot an experienced PKR player; another reality based feature of the PKR.Com software introduces digital bracelets. Bracelets are won in major tournaments on the site, and can be worn by your avatar to show your success.

Player Traffic and Competition

As far as traffic is concerned they have over 800,000 registered players, with sign up rate increasing by 50% each week. Also an average of 7,000 players can be found playing online during peak hours. I am sure the numbers here will grow steadily in the near future.

Using the above features to hone in on your opponents habits, and the player lobby stats, to help find a nice table, a good poker player can definitely make a decent profit. In fact, flops per hour can often be found at well above 50.

Sign up Bonus

They have recently introduced a new bonus offer and also made changes to the existing ones. The $25 fixed bonus has changed to a $50 fixed bonus. 50% match deposit up to $250 remains the same, but with a slight change. Players must now earn 200 points for every $1 of bonus they receive.

PLUS they have added an amazing 100% deposit bonus up to $600. The lowest minimum deposit required to receive a bonus has also been raised to $50 (for the fixed bonus), $100 for the Match bonus and $250 for the 100% match bonus.

PKR points are pretty easy to earn, in fact 150 of them can be earned in a single hand. Game Variety and Promotions

They currently offer only the notoriously famous Hold’em, Omaha, and Omaha H/L, if you’re looking for Razz, Stud, or other popular poker games, they aren’t to be found at PKR.Com just yet.

Blinds can be found at the limit tables from the smallest micro-limits, as low as $.02 big blinds up to a much higher limit of $100/$200, the traffic in the high stakes area’s of the software is close to non existent to date, again the software is awesome, so this should improve with time. No limit games can also be found at $.01-$.02 blinds, and up to $5-$10.

Deposit/Withdrawal Methods

The minimum deposit amount for real money players is $20 and the following banking options are currently available; NETeller, Visa, Visa Electron, Visa Delta, MasterCard, Maestro, Switch, and Solo.
